Hi! I'm Bridget Bergens, OTR/L, CFSP, CPHWC

Living in the moment.
Appreciating the good in every person.
Being thankful for our daily life experiences.
This is the advice I live by.

I am an Integrative Wholelistic Health Practitioner. My focus is the nourishment and wellbeing of the Whole Self.

I have been in healthcare for 30 years. I am a Certified Professional Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Food and Spirit Practitioner and a Register Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Florida. I am also currently pursing a Fellowship in Botanical Medicine.

I became a healthcare provider because I truly care about others and have a great passion to improve others’ lives by helping them achieve optimal health, independence and wellness. To me it is very important to live a healthy lifestyle-intellectually, emotionally and physically.

My mother is my true inspiration. She taught me to never give up your fight and live your passion. She was an amazing example of courage and grace as she battled cancer for 7 years. She was great at self-managing her wellbeing through the whole journey, even though she lost her battle. This experience changed my life. It was here that my journey to health and wellness began using an integrative and functional nutrition approach. After studying the science of nutrition and functional medicine, I recognize the interaction between lifestyle habits, of which food choices are significant, and genetics. The food you eat, the personal products you use, your exercise habits and your mind interact with your genes to influence your health—positively or negatively. You have the power to change your wellbeing.

I feel we truly need an appropriate blend of scientific knowledge with holistic functional alternatives and interventions to assure we live a well and balanced life.

My personal wellness vision:

I love life. I am a wonderful wife, sister and daughter. I am balanced in my life, eating a plant-based diet, exercising and mediating daily, which allows me to have the energy and mindset to fulfill my life purpose intellectually, emotionally and physically. I am truly passionate about inspiring my friends, family and others to achieve their personal journey to wellness.

Dr. Bryan M. Bergens

I have been a healthcare provider for 25 years who believes it is important to treat the whole person. I feel is it imperative to advance your skills and education throughout your career. I am a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and an Assistant Professor in Periodontics at the University of Florida, School of Dentistry. I have a Fellowship from the International College of Oral Implantalogy and received my training at Louisiana State University. I am Board Certified and a Fellow in the Metabolic Medical Institute in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine.

As a Board Certified Periodontist, I practice the full scope of the specialty with expertise ranging from periodontal surgery to advanced Laser and Pinhole surgical techniques. Integrative dentistry addresses people with medical illnesses, such as treatment for mucositis in people undergoing cancer chemotherapy, or preoperative screening for heart surgery or joint replacement, to rule out infections that could threaten the outcome of the procedures. I feel it is important to concentrate on the connection between oral conditions, inflammation and the health of the rest of the body. The effects of periodontal infections on markers of systemic inflammation and cardiovascular health are the best-known examples.

I currently provide consulting services to BWell, LLC on anti-aging, regenerative and functional medicine. My areas of focus are in metabolics, endocrinology, lab testing, professional neutraceuticals and nutrition. With functional medicine, no two individuals will receive identical treatment. This is because I recognize the uniqueness of each individual and the need for customized care. Countless people are living with chronic conditions, some undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. I work to target the underlying causes of conditions, rather than prescribing treatments that simply minimize the symptoms and effects of these conditions.
